Since purchasing the 150 yr old property Carinya in the Southern Grampians, I have become obsessed with the Red Gums that dominate the Gunditjmara landscape. They stand tall, as thought like giants protecting the landscape.
I captured the last hours of a summery twight-light. The stillness of the landscape is only broken by the sound of laughing kookaburras and sulphur-crested cockatoos.
Titled Eucalypt Red Gum Study has been shortlisted for two art prizes in 2022.
Photographed with film stocks dated 1991, using a Holga Pinhole camera, this work has been entered and successfully shortlisted for several art prizes in 2022. An edition of 8 will be made available.
